Welcome to Owl & Elaia

I’m Katie, the creator of Owl & Elaia.

I chose the name because the owl symbolizes wisdom, and elaia (Greek for olive tree) signals peace, resilience, and return.

My roots are in Chicago, but I learned shamanic journeying while living near Zion National Park in southwest Utah, where I worked as a local television news reporter. That landscape taught me something simple and lasting: clarity can’t be forced; it arrives when you’re ready to receive it.

Over time, journeying with my personal drum became one of the most honest tools I’ve ever known. I’ve practiced alongside an experienced shamanic practitioner for the past five years and continued my training through workshops, including a 3-day intensive with Julie Kramer.

People come to tarot and journey divination during health seasons, emotional hardship, and major life transitions, when they want support that feels both spiritual and real. My style is grounded and direct. I listen closely, name what’s true, and we leave with clear next steps.

My work is grounded in devotion, resilience, and deep respect for the sacred. Spiritual support is not a substitute for therapy or medical care.
